Travels on the Oregon Coast-Sunday

travels on the oregon coast--sunday

On Sunday we awoke  and travelled to Astoria a twenty minute or so drive to the north. There we attended the Astoria Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is an elderly Ward which reflects the age profile of the community at least according to Catherine. We then returned to the Worldmark in Seaside where we were staying.

After lunch, Catherine came to visit us. Well, Catherine and her new friend Justin met us on the street and we followed them to a Chapman beach located north of the city of Cannon Beach.

I confess that one of the reasons for blogging this trip is to post some of my favorite pictures. So, here are some more from this beach.

After spending time at Chapman Beach we decided to visit nearby Ecola Park. So, off we went. The road to the park is narrow and winding. It reminded me of the roads we traveled in England as described in Stranded on an Island parts one and two.

Once we had enjoyed that overlook, we decided to visit Indian Beach which is also within the park.

As you can see from these pictures we had a glorious day for our visits. We left Ecola State Park and returned to Seaside. Catherine joined us for dinner that evening which was a delicious frozen lasagna (yes, we did warm it up first) buttered bread we heated in the oven, broccoli and a salad kit–yum!

After dinner we hung out with Catherine for a bit then sent her on her way with some left over lasagna for Justin. We had invited him to join us but he declined which was perfectly understandable. The rest of the eveing was quiet as we prepared for an event filled Monday.
