travels on the oregon coast-monday
Catherine’s normal days off are Sunday and Monday, so we planned on spending the day with her. We picked Catherine up at her apartment and proceeded to Coffee Girl a coffee house located on a dock on the Columbia river.
The view from the deck and from those windows is really gorgeous. We didn’t eat outside this trip because it was a bit cool. We have eaten outside in the past, however. So, I’m going to cheat and include a picture from a past trip to give you an idea.
Once we were done with breakfast, Catherine suggested that we visit Young’ River falls a short drive and walk from Coffee Girl. Off we went. We parked and left the car for the short walk and I discovered one of the things I love about Oregon.
Yeah, you just find random dead fish lying around. I think it is so cool not knowing what will greet you around the next corner. As it turns out around the next corner we arrived at the falls.
From the falls, Catherine took us on loop through lovely Oregon countryside and brought us back to her apartment. You will recall from the first post about our journey that I had delivered a TV to Catherine. We spent the next hour or so setting it up. We then trekked to the dump to dispose of her cat destroyed device and to Wal-mart to return my first attempt at buying a TV for her which was destroyed by humans. It turns out, by the way, that everything in Astoria is more beautiful. Even the dump.
we returned to Seaside and Catherine went back to her apartment to wash clothes and tidy up. Later, Catherine joined us for dinner. Afterwards we took advantage of having the beach right outside our place and went for a walk along the sands. The tide was out and the sunset was incredible.
And that was the day. We had one more day with Catherine all day long before she had to get back to work. Tuesday, coming right up.
